Oliver North to Appear at Dom Giordano’s Feast of the Seven Fishes Event

  • SumoMe

I am thrilled that Lt. Colonel Oliver North will be joining me at my Fourth Annual Feast of the Seven Fishes dinner and live broadcast. This year’s Feast of the Seven Fishes event will take place Monday, December 17th at the beautiful Crystal Tea Room in the Wanamaker Building, 1300 Market Street in Philadelphia. You can get more information by visiting the CBS Philly website.

Lt. Colonel North needs no introduction. He’s a combat-decorated U.S. Marine, a best-selling author, a nationally syndicated columnist, a former radio talk show host and currently hosts the popular “War Stories” program on the Fox News Channel.

I have interviewed Lt. Colonel North in the past and he is truly one of my favorite guests. He was assigned to the National Security Council as the government’s counter-terrorism coordinator from 1983 to 1986. Lt. Colonel North played major roles in the rescue of over 800 medical students on the island of Grenada as well as the daring capture of the terrorists who hijacked the Achille Lauro cruise ship.

After helping plan the U.S. raid on Muammar Qaddafi’s terror bases in Libya, North was targeted for assassination by Abu Nidal, the infamous terrorist killed in Baghdad in August, 2002. President Ronald Reagan described Lt. Colonel North as “an American hero.” I agree.

After retiring from the military, Oliver North has become a prolific author, having written 13 books that have all reached the New York Times Best Seller List. I have several Oliver North books on my bookshelf, and I have enjoyed his fiction novels and non-fiction books. Some of my favorites have been American Heroes in Special Operations; American Heroes in the Fight Against Radical Islam; War Stories II: Heroism in the Pacific; War Stories III: The Heroes Who Defeated Hitler; and The Assassins.

I hope you will be able to join me for an evening of good food, great guests and great conversation. In addition to Colonel North, other special guests will include Bobby Rydell, former Governor Ed Rendell, “The Geator” Jerry Blavat, Charlie Gracie, St. Joseph’s Head Basketball Coach Phil Martelli, The Calamari Sisters, my WPHT broadcast colleague Steve Cordasco and Phila. District Attorney Seth Williams, among other.

General North is a great man that still has the common touch.
