Face to Face with Senator Marco Rubio

One of my strengths of my WPHT 1210 AM Radio Show is”Big Issues Big Guests.”  I’ve brought Donald Rumsfeld to the Valley Forge Military Academy and College to talk about our national security. I’ve brought Richard Dreyfuss to the Constitution Center to talk about the need for kids to be taught Civics.  However, no one has caused such a stir as Senator Marco Rubio, who will be my guest on June 20th from 7 to 8:30 pm at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.

Rubio will talk with me and listeners about his life and his new book, An American Son, which will be released on June 19th  . The book chronicles  his parents leaving Cuba just ahead of Fidel Castro and his rise at the young age of 40 to the top tier of American politics. It is the embodiment of the classic American Dream.

Rubio is much more of a nightmare for the Democratic Party. He’s young, Latino and one of the most articulate conservative voices, particularly on the issue of growing the economy and  creating prosperity for more Americans. Imagine Joe Biden debating him. I’d pay to watch that one.

I like to say that I’ll be able to tell how ready Rubio is for the Democratic onslaught once I’m in the ring with him. On June 21, I’ll be able to tell you more about how he thinks and reacts. I’ll also be able to give you insight into Rubio the person. I know he’s off to a good start in that he’s asked for Philly cheesesteaks for his pregame meal on June 20th. I think he’ll do a better job with them than John Kerry did.

I question whether Mr. Rubio is able to leave his ethnicity behind and rationally remove illeagls who are living here amoung us. Some of these people have been ignoring and arrogantly breaking our laws for in (some cases) 25 – 30 years. Here where I live in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, the mushroom industry is notorious for hiring illegals to do their “grunt work” and support an business that earns billions of dollars paying illegal invaders from Mexico who are often paid in “CASH”. Nobody does a damn thing to stop it. Is Mr. Rubio a true conservative who is really trying to stop the illegal invasion or just a lot of hot air who is pandering to special interests and the hispanic social media. We shall see. I for one am sceptical about his real political interests.

Richard I honestly have the same fear about Rubio though I am willing to give him
    a chance .

He is after all a Florida politician and he is no doubt very tested
on the topic and no doubt has had to take many a hard stand against
the illegals. He is from a state where the Governor is cracking down
on illegals voting and must take a “loyalty test ” daily with his voting.

Actually , though stereotyping is wrong , Cubans in Florida
are actual accused of being racists not liberals .

You are correct though Pennsylvania is heading for
a moment of truth on immigration or we won’t survive.
